The Trim Panel with the backlighting done.
Done with the prototypes, The panel is ready for the AML's and ready to be placed at the pedestal, i have the Trim Panel and the Elt panel at the same phase.
The slider for the Trim panel is handmade and will work with a momentary miniature toggle. Great feel.
I designed the backer panels so they could hold the 3mm leds im using for backlighting, for example the lighting for the ELT panel requires 3 leds as you can see. Led type- Warm White Wide Ultra Bright.
Here we can see the leds on, very nice.
Some TL switches are here, thanks to Randy, they are great, and will fit with the panels.
I've got the Dzus Fasteners replica's from Ron Rollo, They are a total of 70. Some sand and paintjob has to be done in order to place this fasteners. But the fit is perfect with my panels. This fasteners are a must have!
As im currently on the pedestal i needed to get some knobs done in order to complete the panels, and be functional. I am designing the knobs, so they can be cut out with the laser , as i said before i dont want to involve any CNC. After the laser cut and engrave is done with the knobs some minor details such as sanding and drilling are needed to get these ready for use. But at the end, simple solutions, good for eye candy and functionals.
Some light test with the APU ptrototype panel, dont worry about the light leakage, its been taken care of with the new design, this was the prototype and i learnead a lot about those AML's fit.
The design is ready, is made with a backer and an upper panel, its compatible with AML's , Honeywell Toggle Switches and the honeywell switch guards.
I've started the design of this panel, originally i was going to make this panel just for dummy purposes but thinking about the implementation of WX features with the Jet 45 in the future i decided to make this fully functional, So the design shows some solutions regarding the switches, They will work with Omron switches in the back and will be backlited. Some round edges need to be done with the panel but its near to be done.
I've completed the design for the Trim Panel, this is a pic screen of the Top panel design. But theres a backer panel also.
